Following his arrest on Sunday (Nov. 18), 6ix9ine has been transferred from a federal jail in Brooklyn, N.Y. to another federal location, due to safety concerns.

The Brooklyn rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, was being housed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park until Wednesday (Nov. 21), when he was moved to another location. According to TMZ, 6ix's lawyer Lance Lazzaro claims the move was made out of concerns for the rapper's safety. Lazzaro tells The New York Post he can not confirm where his client has been taken only noting he was removed from Bureau of Prisons custody.

Tekashi was arrested with accused Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods members Jamel Jones (Mel Murda), Kifano Jordan (Shottie), Jensel Butler (Ish), Fuguan Lovick (Fu Banga) and Faheem Walter (Crippy) on Sunday and charged with federal racketeering and firearms charges.

U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman spoke on the gang's terrorizing ways following the arrests. “As alleged in the indictment, this gang, which included platinum-selling rap artist Tekashi 6ix9ine, wreaked havoc on New York City, engaging in brazen acts of violence," he said.

He continued, "Showing reckless indifference to others’ safety, members of the gang were allegedly involved in robberies and shootings, including a shooting inside the crowded Barclay’s Center, and a shooting in which an innocent bystander was hit. Thanks to the extraordinary work of HSI, ATF, and the NYPD, the defendants will now face justice in federal court.”

The arrest came just days after the rapper canceled his tour, fired his entire team and accused them of stealing millions from him during an interview on The Breakfast Club.

According to a Daily Beast report, there may be some validity to his claims. Law enforcement sources claim Shotti pocketed $2.2 million from Tekashi unbeknownst to the rapper or the other co-defendants. One police source tells the outlet, “[Shotti's] caught between the golden goose he killed and Mel Murda,” the official said.
