6ix9ine is expected to testify in the trial of his former fellow Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods members Anthony "Harv" Ellison and Ajermiah "Nuke" Mack after the jury trial begins next week, and when he does, details of his role in the gang will come into focus.

According to a letter from U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman to U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer, which was filed on Monday (Sept. 9), Tekashi, listed as CW-2 (cooperating witness 2) in the letter, is expected to testify that at least one of his roles in Brooklyn-based gang Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods was to "make money for the gang and distribute that money among Nine Trey members."

Federal prosecutors will make this point by citing text messages exchanged between Jamel "Mel Murda" Jones and Ellison, whom prosecutors allege kidnapped Tekashi on July 22, 2018. In one set of text messages, Jones asks Ellison if they're going to “make some type of bread off this trip or wht Billy?” Prosecutors say this is an example of the gang's expectation to make money off 6ix9ine.

In other text messages exchanged by 6ix9ine, Ellison and other members of Nine Trey, the government says 6ix9ine told the crew they had to "run down on" Casanova for his lyrics on Cas' 2018 song "Set Trippin." As was previously supported, prosecutors allege that Fuguan Lovick, who is a member of Nine Trey, tried to shoot Casanova at Brooklyn's Barclays Center last April. On May 9, Lovick pleaded guilty for his role in the shooting.

The trial for Ellison and Mack could begin as soon as next week as jury selection is set to begin next Monday (Sept. 16). On June 6, Mack and Ellison were both indicted for criminal involvement in Nine Trey, using and carrying firearms, which were brandished and discharged, in connection with the racketeering conspiracy and more.
