Here Are the 2017 Hip-Hop Music Festivals You Need to See
While it may seem like the year just got started, many of hip-hop's biggest names are making big moves, which seems like 2017 is flying by. And while much of America is still stuck in the claws of Old Man Winter, spring is right around the corner and with it comes festival season.
Many of the star-studded lineups at the biggest music festivals have already been announced and it seems like the nation's most popular music celebrations are getting more hip-hop-heavy than ever. Festival 'fits, carpool routes and excessive drinking aside, festival season is geared toward giving the fan the best musical experience for their buck, and this year's lineups don't disappoint.
After finishing a world tour last year, Chance The Rapper is gearing up to headline damn near every festival in America this summer. From Governors Ball in New York City to Bonnaroo in Tennessee to Hangout Fest in Alabama to Boston Calling Fest in (you guessed it) Boston, Chano is going to be everywhere during the hottest months of the year.
Even though he hasn't dropped an official LP in two years, a ticket to a Kendrick Lamar show will cost the average fan a pretty penny. So for K. Dot to be headlining a festival like Rolling Loud in Miami, with performers Lil Wayne, Future, A$AP Rocky, Young Thug and Travis Scott, is low-key a deal of a lifetime.
With more festivals popping up each year, fans really need to weigh the options of which concerts are worth the trek. As a rap fan, which fest is really worth the hit to your wallet this year? Check out our gallery of 2017 festivals in the gallery above to decide.
