If you were looking forward to getting some new music from Young Thug this year, it looks like you'll be a bit disappointed. The Atlanta rapper says that he won't be putting out any music this year in honor of his deaf brother.

During an interview with Hypebeast during VFiles showcase at New York Fashion Week on Feb. 13, the Beautiful Thugger Girls hitmaker reveals that he has a brother who can't hear, so he wants to act deaf for a year by not releasing any new music.

“I got a deaf brother," he explains. "I got a brother that can't hear, so I want to act deaf for a year. I ain’t going to put out no music this year.”

Despite the harsh news for fans who are awaiting new sounds from Thugger, he does say  that he may drop his highly-anticipated and long-awaited Hy!£UN35 album in 2019.

"2019, I'm gonna put out probably HiTunes," he remarks.

This might be a tough pill to swallow for his supporters, but it does seem to be a profound gesture towards his deaf brother. Thugger, who recently changed his name to "Sex," might not be releasing music of his own, but he could still very well pop up on other artists' songs.
