Tyga Cancels Sweden Concert in Support of ASAP Rocky
Tyga has thrown his support behind A$AP Rocky as he is still locked up in a Sweden jail.
On Thursday afternoon (July 11), the California rhymer hopped on his Instagram story to announce that he's canceled his July 14 show in Sweden.
“I have decided to cancel my show,” he wrote. “I will not be performing in Sweden this Sunday, July 14.” He concluded his message with the hashtag #freeasaprocky.
Tyga joins a list of rappers who have spoken out about Rocky’s arrest in Sweden. Last week, fellow rapper A$AP Ferg asked fans to keep the Harlem rapper in their prayers for his release.
In addition, Chace Infinite, who's been a part of Rocky's team in the past, directed fans to a Change.org petition demanding that Swedish government officials release the detained rapper from a Swedish jail. The petition comes as rumors about the conditions in Rocky's jail have been reportedly described as inhumane. But Rocky’s attorney, Henrik Olsson Lilja, has refuted those reports.
In the wake of his legal plight, Rocky also had to cancel several festival dates on his U.K. tour. According to Sónar Festival organizers on Wednesday (July 10), the rapper's management announced that Rocky was forced to cancel his remaining European shows due to his July 1 arrest for suspicion of assault.
