Spring in the music world is an exciting time. After first quarter releases and big events like the Grammys, spring marks a new beginning for the music fan in the form of festivals. The music festival business has gone from a cult following, camp-outs included, to a right of passage summer activity for basically everyone in America who can afford to get in.

Along with long-standing events like Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, it seems there's a new gathering of festivals popping up every year for fans to attend, artists to cosign and organizers to cash in on. The show runners of California's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, one of the most notoriously expensive celebrations in music, are attempting to take their festival domination bi-coastal for the first time by introducing Panorama Festival in New York. Washington D.C. is aiming to establish itself as the DMV's festival hub as the Broccoli City Festival announces a lineup of bigger hip-hop names than ever before.

There's definitely new names in hip-hop to be aware of on the festival circuit this year. California crooner and Aftermath signee Anderson .Paak is getting the full festival rollout with his band, The Free Nationals, appearing on more than five lineups so far. 2015 XXL Freshmen Fetty Wap, DeJ Loaf, Vince Staples and more are about to get into their festival cash flow groove with dates from Alabama to New Orleans. The FutureHive will be happy to hear that their fearless codeine sipping leader is set to headline multiple dates around the U.S. this summer. And fresh off surprising the Internet with a fire project, untitled unmastered., Kendrick Lamar will be state and globe-trotting all season as a festival headliner. Ain't no rest for the wicked.

As hip-hop lovers thaw out from winter and budget for summer's best sets, here are the lineups that can't be missed in 2016.

This list will be updated as more festival lineups are announced.
