Suge Knight Sues Chris Brown for 2014 Shooting in Los Angeles
Suge Knight is suing Chris Brown and the owners of Los Angeles nightclub 1OAK over a 2014 shooting that left the former Death Row boss with seven gunshot wounds. The lawsuit accuses Brown, who was hosting a party on the evening in question, as well as the club owners, of having such lax security that at least one armed person was able to enter the venue.
Knight is currently in jail awaiting trail on a hit and run incident that left one dead, and his attorneys say that the fear instilled into him following the 1OAK shooting led him to flee when he was attacked in his car. What's more, Knight has cited complication from the injuries sustained that night, which include gunshot wounds to the abdomen, chest and left forearm. The lawsuit does not specify how much money Knight is seeking, but asks for a judgement in which the defendants will be ordered to pay past and future medical expenses.
The lawsuit claims that the venue should have taken extra precautions considering Brown's event history stating that Brown has a "well-documented track record of hosting events and/or parties in which violence frequently erupted. And, "as a result of the negligence of the defendants, one or more unknown individuals were allowed access to the event with weapons, including firearms. As a foreseeable result, gunshots were fired by those admitted into the event and (Knight) was shot and seriously injured."
Knight has his own storied history with incidents of violence, and XXL will continue to update this story as news becomes available.
