Snoop Dogg and media entrepreneur Ted Chung joined forces and unveiled their new joint venture, Merry Jane, at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco yesterday (Sept. 21). THR reports, Merry Jane is a media company that will be reporting on everything marijuana related. The site will launch in October, according to The GuardianThe West Coast legend described the new 420-focused online destination at TechCrunch Disrupt.

“After watching where the cannabis industry is headed, I wanted to create a platform that will take this movement further by creating a destination where people could find fresh content,” he said. “Merry Jane is a game-changing platform for pop culture. It’s a new frontier y’all!” Born Calvin Broadus Jr, Snoop said Merry Jane will be "the encyclopedia to the cannabis world." He continued to say, "We're providing the industry with something that's void right now. We are the information hotline for cannabis. We are what's missing."

Co-founder Ted Chung said Merry Jane will feature a plethora of editorial content and original programming, including a video series titled “Deflowered” that interviews entrepreneurs in marijuana-related fields.

"There are few companies out there that have attempted to enter into the marketplace, and their download apps total and page views total are really numbers that we're going to crush within the first six months," Chung said. "I think the interest level and the demand is there, it's just about someone coming to the forefront like Snoop, like our other partners -- including actor Seth Rogen -- and providing the site and media platform that can take cannabis to the next level."
