On Thursday afternoon (May 2), Facebook announced the banning of controversial Nation of Islam leader, Minister Louis Farrakhan, who's been criticized for his anti-Semitic remarks, from its social platforms.

One person who wasn't happy with the social media company’s decision was Snoop Dogg, a friend of Minister Louis Farrakhan. Hours after the announcement, the rap veteran hopped on his Instagram page and posted a video calling out Facebook for purging Minister Farrakhan from their platform, which includes Instagram.

"So Facebook and Instagram just banned Louis Farrakhan, I want to know for what?" Snoop asked. "All he ever do was to tell the truth. But y'all gonna ban him though."

"What if we ban y'all? What if we stop fuckin' with y'all Facebook and Instagram? How the fuck you gonna ban Minister Louis Farrakhan for putting truth out there?" Snoop continued in the angry clip. "I stand with him...ban me muthafucka. Ban me. I'ma keep posting his shit. I'ma keep putting Louis Farrakhan out there. That's my dear brother. Fuck y'all that got a problem with him."

"Sorry Minister, I had to bang for ya. I know you don't permit that. But that ain't right. It's not right," Snoop added.

Other high-profile people that Facebook banned included right-wing radio host Alex Jones and controversial right-wing media personalities Milo Yiannopoulos and Paul Joseph Watson.

Reps for Facebook announced the platform's decision to ban a new wave of controversial public figures on Thursday. “We’ve always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology," reads a statement from a spokesperson for the company. "The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today."
