Shyne rings in the new year in Belize just about the best way possible. On Tuesday (Jan. 9), the former Bad Boy Entertainment rapper used his Instagram account to reveal that he'd just welcomed a baby girl into the world.

"Welcome our princess Naomi 💗💗💗," Shyne began in the caption for an Instagram image of himself and his newly born daughter. "Thank the Creator of the universe for delivering you to us🙏🏾 Love at first sight😍😍😍 1•9•18."

Shyne has been in Belize for many years now since being deported once he was released from prison in 2009. The rapper served time for possession of a weapon, assault and reckless endangerment due to a 1999 nightclub shooting. While he isn't rapping as much these days, it's clear he's living the good life—even if it's taken him in directions he didn't imagine it would 20 years ago.

In the late 1990s, it looked as if Shyne would be the next New York rapper to leave his mark on hip-hop. However, all of that changed on Dec. 27, 1999, when he got involved in a nightclub melee that left three people injured. After a fight broke out, the then-21-year-old pulled out a gun and started firing into a crowd in a move that would ultimately land him a prison sentence.

All it takes is a look around his Instagram account to see that Shyne's turned things around and is living his best life. Salute to him.

Take a look at Shyne enjoying what were presumably his first moments with his baby girl, Naomi, below.
