Saba Goes All in for Freestyle Over Drake’s “Nice For What”

After recently wrapping up his Care For Me Tour, Saba is continuing his momentous run with a fiery freestyle over Drake's "Nice For What."

Following fans' request to add his Chi-town touch to the popular track, the Pivot Gang member delivered a freestyle late Saturday night (June 2). The hit single, originally produced by Murda Beatz, flips a vocal sample of "Care for me, care for me" by Lauryn Hill from her track "Ex-Factor." The sample she sings is also ironically the title of Saba’s latest effort, Care For Me.

Putting his own spin on the popular instrumental, Saba flaunts some impressive breath control and wordplay as he dials in to deliver introspective bars. "Can't lie, I'm pretty public for an introvert," he spits, completely self-aware.

The Chicago native teased the freestyle on Instagram Saturday night (June 2) along with the caption: "IM JUST HAVING FUN."

Since its release in April, Care For Me has been praised by critics and fans alike, with videos for "BUSY" and "LIFE" being deemed early fan favorites. Saba recently kicked off the accompanying tour, a few short days after the album's release, in Boston and made his mark across North America. The trek wrapped up on May 19 in Toronto, but fans shouldn't fret for the rapper is expected to return to the stage for festival season.

In the coming months, Saba is scheduled to perform at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, Outside Lands in San Francisco, OctFest in NYC and Westward Music Festival in Vancouver, with more to be announced soon.
