Rick Ross and Maybach Music Group Scuffle with Young Jeezy and G-Unit
While initial reports claimed Rick Ross was involved in a confrontation with Young Jeezy at the backstage of the BET's 2012 Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta, further rumors have arisen stating 50 Cent's camp was also in the midst of a scuffle against members of the Maybach Music Group.
Allegedly, Gunplay of Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group had a fist fight with members of 50 Cent's entourage. Rumors are stating that members of G-Unit have injured Ross' protégé, with some claiming 50 was actually tangled in the brawl. Different sources are making alleged claims, with few stating that Gunplay was visibly wounded, and has been handcuffed by security guards.
While the scuffle was occurring, various members of the rap community including A Tribe Called Quest, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, and former foes 50 Cent and Fat Joe were part of the tribute to commemorate the legacy of the recently passed music industry executive Chris Lighty.
Regarding the brawl between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy, New York DJ Funkmaster Flex tweeted, "Jeezy and Rick Ross just had words backstage!! Pushing and shoving!!!" He later added, "Shots fired in parking lot!!! Gunman arrested!!! Back to the show and Club later!!!"
Atlanta's DJ Drama, immediately took to his radio show to broadcast what he witnessed at the awards show, "Some words got exchanged, heard some what’s ups, I’ve seen the security getting a little hostile, a lot of big men started pushing and shoving, some interesting conflict between Ross and Jeezy, and it just went bad!”
The story is still developing, and as of press time no official statements were given from either the rap camps or the authorities. —Jaeki Cho (@JaekiCho)
