Rich The Kid Gives Props to His Supplier on New Song “Plug Walk”
It sounds like Rich The Kid has another banger on his hands. Today (Feb. 8), the Rich Forever rapper drops his latest single, "Plug Walk."
Produced by Lab Cook, Rich kicks dope-boy lingo over the subdued but slapping instrumental, whose spacey chords add to the song's cosmic feel. "E.T., it's the plug trying to call me/I was up trapping early in the morning," Rich rhymes. "Ooh, I'm the wave like a du-rag/Pussy nigga calling for his boo back/Plug walk, Gucci on my shoes, racks/Woke up in the house, hear that rat-ta-tat."
It is unclear if this is a song off his new album or a loose cut, but we'll take it either way.
In other Rich The Kid-related news, his single, "New Freezer," produced by Ben Jayne, recently entered the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at No. 75. The bump could be attributed to the "New Freezer" Challenge that's taking over the internet.
That doesn't mean the Atlanta rapper is going to rest on his laurels. "It was a great accomplishment but I always feel like there's a lot more work to be done," Rich tells XXL about the hit song. "[Kendrick Lamar] was excited about it when he heard the record. He was like, 'Everybody is gonna listen to this everywhere,' and he was right! A lot of people really didn’t expect for me to have a record with Kendrick, but I proved them wrong. It's not easy to get Kendrick on a record, so it was a huge deal for me to have him featured on the song."
