Wara From the NBHD might not have the platform of some rappers, but he has quickly converted new listeners into fans with rapping prowess. The Atlanta by way of Brooklyn MC closed out 2015 with an excellent project called If Guns Could Kill PSA. Now Wara's ready to keep that momentum rolling with two new tracks.

The first of the songs is "Death Watch," which features Spillage Village member J.I.D. and production by Thelonious Martin. The track sees J.I.D. kick things off on a modern boom bap beat as he unloads some tough bars. Wara picks things up from there and delivers some hard rhymes. Wara spoke about the simple mission of "Death Watch."

"J.I.D and I [are] showing people that we’re not the ones to fuck with lyrically," Wara told Pigeons and Planes, who premiered the new songs.

The second track, "Skin Tone," offers up a much different vibe. This record sees Wara examining his life as a black man in America over a production crafted by Wara, Wili Hendrixs and Thelonious Martin.. The Atlanta-based rapper spoke highly of the song, calling it one of his best to date.

"'Skin Tone’ is probably one of my best songs simply because of what it represents," Wara said. "Self empowerment for people that look like me – overall it’s a record for the world that speaks for itself."

There is no word if these tracks are simply two loose singles or will end up on official projects by Wara From the NBHD. Last year, Wara told XXL that he would be releasing a studio album in 2016. Perhaps "Death Match" and "Skin Tone" are the first singles off that untitled LP.
