Listen to Pouya’s New Song “Handshakes”

Continuing to gear up for the release of his debut album, Pouya drops off his latest track, "Handshakes."

Produced by frequent collaborator Mikey The Magician, "Handshakes" is a hard-hitting banger that features Pouya calling out the people who don't respect him. "Don't you turn back to me I made the land you walk today/I just want your loyalty/Don't let this be one more mistake/Inside plotting on me/Outside hand shakes," he raps during the hook.

Pouya continues the bars over Mikey's pounding drums, spitting, "I pour water on the roots of every rapper that I touch/Pay yo homage when you see me/Sacrifice yo woman's guts as a retainer to yo life/Baby don't wanna get involved with a man/I got some issues I can't be yo Mr. right."

In August, Pouya told XXL he was working on his next project and also revealed an upcoming collaboration with $uicideboy$. "I’m working on an album," the rapper told us. "I don’t have a name right now. Me and $uicideboy$ are going to do a South Side $uicide 2 mixtape. I’m really just working on this album and I got a few songs here and there with Flatbush Zombies that I’m working on. Me and Post Malone are going to do some shit, but mostly my main focus is my sophomore album."

While a tracklist for his upcoming album has yet to be revealed, the project currently features no guest appearances. "Fans are just really going to love it because it’s just me; my real fans and my real supporters are going to enjoy it," he said. "I don’t necessarily box myself in and say I’m going for this sound but it’s too early to tell. [The album] is going to be very versatile with all types of sounds."
