And just like that, PnB Rock's TrapStar Turnt PopStar album is here, and with it comes “Middle Child,” a track featuring his late friend and fellow 2017 XXL Freshman, XXXTentacion.

The new song, released on Friday (May 3), is produced by DatKidChris and finds the two artists trading melodious bars over a distinctly trap soundscape. "So much cash in my jeans, Louis V., pocket wallet/Niggas hate, niggas bitches, niggas bitches, pocket watchin,'" XXX rhymes on the chorus.

"Ooh, 30s out (Yeah), fuck you talkin' 'bout?" Rock raps. "(Yeah)/Yeah, runnin' 'round the city, I swear/I'm lurking out (Lurking out)/Damn, buying shit, I'm off a percy now (Percy now)."

PnB and X were close before the Florida rapper's death in June of 2018. Prior to his passing, the two collaborated on "Changes" from X's 2018 album?. The song garnered a platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) just four days before X's untimely passing.

The LP and PnB's new X collab arrive just one day after the Philly artist told Beats 1 Radio's Ebro Darden that he was a top five songwriter of his generation. PnB says that, while other all-time greats might outrank him, he's clearly one of the greats of today.

"But in this generation, in this time...this generation of hip hop. I would say, I'm top five. For sure," PnB stated. "I feel like I gave a lot of these new up and coming artists, not on no trying to take credit for nothing, but I helped...generate this sauce that's like this rapping, singing, trapping, and being comfortable with the...You know what I'm saying? I'm one of the first ...to do that."
