Last year, an enigmatic Atlanta rapper named Playboi Carti started making noise online with a song called "Broke Boi." Heavily drug influenced, his music started reverberating through the same youth culture that's been big-upping innovative new artists like Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert, and he's developed a cult-like following despite having yet to release an official debut tape.

So earlier this week, someone decided to collect 45 of his songs into one mixtape and put it up for download. The unofficial compilation is called Tha Carti and it features some of the rapper's biggest songs to date like "Fetti," "YUNGXANHOE," "Heavy," and a whole lot more.

In the months following Carti's first wave of buzz last year, Atlanta collective Awful Records wisely scooped him up and claimed him as their own. Then, in September of 2015, it was revealed that Carti had signed with A$AP Rocky and was recording with Frank Ocean.

The rapper is also very close with another Atlanta figure named Ian Connor, who's heavily involved with fashion and has recently became chummy with Kanye. Ian was a model in the Yeezy Season 3 show at MSG, along with Young Thug and Lil Yachty.

So while Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Migos and PeeWee Longway might have constituted the New Atlanta a couple years ago, the city is now being overtaken by a brand new set of freshmen who are making their own wave ripple across the nation. Carti, Yachty, and Uzi are some of the hottest rappers out right now, but only two of them have released official projects (Yachty dropped Lil Boat out of nowhere the other day). Carti fans are itching for a tape from him, but this 45-song compilation will have to do for now.
