Nicki Minaj’s ‘The Pink Print’ Will Be Released Before ‘Tha Carter V’
As fans anxiously await the approaching release of Tha Carter V, they'll now have to wait a tad bit longer as YMCMB first lady, Nicki Minaj, will be releasing her new album first. Although both are yet to announce a release date, Mack Maine exclusively reveals to XXL that The Pink Print will arrive before Wayne's next effort.
With Nicki's upcoming album having an extremely strong presence last night at Hot 97's Summer Jam, one had to wonder if this was in fact strategic. When asked if YMCMB had plans to release The Pink Print prior to Tha Carter V, Mack Maine responded, "It will be before Carter V as of now....no concrete date yet."
With amped promotion for Wayne's 11th studio album it was believed that the LP would in fact arrive first. However, as Nicki has also recently ignited the promotional run for her upcoming LP, it's no surprise that The Pink Print will be Young Money's first solo release of the year.
When asked about the essence of her upcoming third studio album Nicki had this to say: "The tracks on Pink Print are back to my hip-hop roots. And I don’t think it’s something that I’m necessarily trying to do. As soon as I started working on my new album, that’s just the songs that I’ve been writing."
As far as a release date, fans can rule out a Beyonce-esque move for the two albums as Mack Maine also confirms that both projects will in fact be attached to a release date.-Miranda Johnson (@Randa_writes)
