Just about one week removed from their heated exchange at last week's 2018 New York Fashion Week event, it's now become apparent that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are on opposite sides of more than just a public confrontation. Thanks to new social media posts from both artists, we now know they've also endorsed opposing candidates in New York's Primary election for Governor.

For her part, Nicki, whose Queen album was recently certified gold, has given her seal of approval to incumbent candidates Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul as well as  Letitia "Tish" James, who is running to be New York's Attorney General.

"‼️‼️New Yorkers & all NYCHA residents its time to get JUSTICE, VOTE Thur. Sept. 13 for Gov. Cuomo, Lt. Gov. Hochul & Tish James," Nicki wrote on Twitter yesterday (Sept. 12). "They know how to work for the people to make NY even GREATER. Spread the word. See you at the Polls‼️‼️‼️"

For her part, the Invasion of Privacy rapper has endorsed Cynthia Nixon and Jumaane Williams, who are running for Governor and Lieutenant Governor respectively. "Polls close around 8PM .NEW YORKERS VOTE NOW !!!!!! #cynthia#jumaane," Bardi wrote in an Instagram post that included an image of both candidates.

Both candidates are Democrats, and today's election will decide which will win the Democratic nomination for Governor. The gubernatorial election takes place Nov. 6, 2018.

So far, Nicki and Cardi have gotten props from the people they chose to endorse. Gov. Cuomo responded to Nicki's tweet less than an hour after she posted it. "See you at the polls! Thanks @NICKIMINAJ for spreading the word," wrote the Governor.

Nixon took some time to screenshot Bardi's IG post and uploaded it to Twitter in her special shoutout to the Bronx rapper. "Thank you @iamcardib for your support! New York: polls close at 9 p.m. get out and vote! #TeamCynthia," wrote Nixon.

Cuomo is the sitting Governor of New York, and has held the position for the last seven years. Cynthia Nixon, a former Sex and the City actress, is a political newcomer with a progressive agenda. Some have made comparisons to their political statuses to those of Nicki Minaj and Cardi B: Nicki as the resident "Queen" of New York, and Cardi as an outspoken new force.
