Nick Cannon Denies Dissing Ex-Wife Mariah Carey on New Song “Oh Well”
No harm, no foul. Nick Cannon had the Internet buzzing after dropping a new song titled "Oh, Well" Thursday (March 23) featuring lyrics that seemed to be dissing his ex-wife, Mariah Carey. The emotional track finds the 35-year-old entertainer reminiscing about a woman who did him wrong and saying good riddance to the bad news.
“‘Cause I still feel bitter about it/You leaving the house/You fucking a n****, giving me a reason to bounce, oh well" raps Cannon.
Almost as soon as the song dropped, people began to speculate that Cannon was taking shots at Carey. But before the tabloids and Internet instigators really got going, Nick was quick to squash rumors that he was taking shots at the mother of his children.
“Sorry to disappoint the bottom feeders but you won’t be hearing any diss records from me unless it’s about the GOVERNMENT! LOL,” he tweeted. “How many times do I have to reiterate [Mariah Carey] and I are super cool! Stop trying to create negativity, we will never subscribe to it.”
The Wild 'N Out creator goes on to say that he and the singer are in a good space and that the media outlets searching for a story need to do their jobs better.
Carey and Cannon were married for six years with the latter filing for divorce in January of 2015. They have two children together, a pair of twins named Moroccan and Monroe. Listen to Cannon's new Ncredible Records release, "Oh Well."
