UPDATE (APRIL 30, 2018):

The RIAA has confirmed that Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys album is officially platinum certified.

UPDATE (April 28, 2018):

The RIAA has confirmed with XXL that Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys album has not officially been certified platinum. The association states that a project might be hypothetically eligible but that is not the same as having a certification submitted and auditors reviewing and approving the platinum status.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Another hip-hop album has earned an RIAA certification upon its release. On Friday (April 27), Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys album was certified platinum the same day it dropped.

Thanks to the success of the singles "Rockstar," "Candy Paint" and "Psycho," Post Malone's latest album has already reached platinum status and is also on pace to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

Up next for Post, the rapper has earned 13 nominations at the upcoming 2018 Billboard Music Awards. The Syracuse, N.Y. artist will compete for some of the night's biggest awards including Top Male Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Rap Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album.

Post's North American tour is also underway, having kicked off on Thursday (April 26) in Portland, Ore. The rapper is currently on the road with 21 Savage and SOB x RBE and will continue touring through June 24 when the trek wraps up in San Francisco, Calif.

The rapper's new album serves as a follow up to his 2016 debut, Stoney. Originally set for a December 2017 release, Post was forced to delay the album but issued an apology to his fans. "I'm sorry to let you down, but I need to make sure this album is perfect for you," he tweeted. "I'm gonna keep working my ass off and make the best fucking album ever. I love ya."

Post Malone is just the latest hip-hop artist to have their album certified by the RIAA on the day of its release. Earlier this month, Cardi B's Invasion of Privacy went gold on its first day thanks to the success of "Bodak Yellow."
