Killer Mike is coming under fire for his response to comedian, Bill Maher using the N-word during a joke on his show.

On Friday’s episode of Real Time With Bill Maher, Maher was interviewing Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse, when he jokingly referred to himself as a “house nigger.”

Some people were livid. Chance The Rapper asked HBO to cancel Maher’s show. “Please @HBO Do Not Air Another Episode Of Real Time With Bill Maher,” the Chicago rapper tweeted. Other celebrities chimed in as well. Activist, Deray McKesson tweeted, “But really, @BillMaher has got to go. There are no explanations that make this acceptable.”

Maher released an apology on Saturday (June 3) which reads: “Friday nights are always my worst night of sleep because I’m up reflecting on the things I should or shouldn’t have said on my live show. Last night was a particularly long night as I regret the word I used in the banter of a live moment. The word was offensive and I regret saying it and am very sorry.”

Naturally, some folks wanted to know Killer Mike’s opinion on the matter since he’s appeared on Maher’s show on multiple occasions and the two seem to have a cool relationship. “That's Pretty Fucking Funny coming from a comedian white or black,” he responded on Twitter. “I just wish others will stop using that lame ass mom 'N Word' as a sub.”

He added, “The word is Nigger and it's a powerful word for bad and it's offspring Nigga has been a power filled word used by those once oppressed…black have BIGGER things than NIGGER to concern ourselves with: Black Banks, Gentrification, Economics & Trade Education. Love, My Nigga.”

The response got the rapper trending on Twitter. Still, some people weren’t trying to hear Killa Kill’s rationale. “#KillerMike has been Outkasted since he went on tour with Bernie and told black people not to vote! And fuck #BillMaher,” one Twitter user posted.

Others were still riding with the Run The Jewels rapper. “Michael Render for president.. yep..still. #KillerMike,” another person posted.
