Curren$y and The Alchemist are getting the band back together. After previously collaborating on the 2011 album Covert Coup, Curren$y and The Alchemist have announced that they will be releasing another collborative project called The Carrollton Heist.

Curren$y made the announcement on Twitter today (Jan. 13) which The Alchemist later confirmed. "The Carrollton Heist produced by Alchemist," wrote Curren$y. "The coup ensues. Love y'all."

It's not been made clear whether this will be a retail album, free release or an EP, but XXL will keep you update on the matter as we find out more. The project's title is clearly a reference to Carrollton Avenue in Curren$y's hometown of New Orleans. Curren$y and The Alchemist come across as a natural duo just off their respective work ethics. Curren$y is known for his constant supply of music for his fans while The Alchemist has been putting in constant work for almost 20 years now.

The Curren$y and Alchemist pairing worked very well the first time around as their 2011 album Covert Coup was critically acclaimed. The ten track album was produced entirely by The Alchemist and featured guest appearances by Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Fiend, Freddie Gibbs and Smoke DZA. And in line with the duo's mutual love of marijuana, the album was released on Apr. 20. No release date for The Carrollton Heist has been announced, but it would not be surprising to see Curren$y and The Alchemist release it on Apr. 20 once again.
