Prince Is Andre 3000’s Biggest Inspiration

André 3000 might make up half of the legendary hip hop duo OutKast, but as an individual, André has made quite a name for himself. Whether you admire his lyrical flow, are inspired by his unique style of dress or if you've always just wanted to sit down and pick at his complex brain, Andre 3000 has definitely crossed your mind. Esquire chose option three and explored some unknown facts about the talented rapper and actor.

One interesting fact is that Prince is his biggest inspiration. "Prince. Michael Jackson was great," said 3K. "But Prince is heavy. When I say heavy, I mean encompassing an entire world instead of one feeling. Heavy is when someone's gonna give you their whole life—make you cry and smile. It's sexual. It's a commentary on the world. It's coming from a rawer place."
