Weeks ago, XXL reported that rising Baton Rouge, La. rapper NBA YoungBoy was arrested and held without bond in Austin, Texas after cops raided his show. There were no details on his charges at the time, as he was being held on an out of state warrant for an "undetermined" felony, but on Thursday (Dec. 8), XXL learned that YoungBoy is being charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

A deputy at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, where YoungBoy is currently detained, confirmed to XXL that he's being held on $200,000 bond for the attempted murder charge. He was extradited from Austin to Baton Rouge Tuesday (Dec. 7) and booked on Wednesday. In addition, he's got a warrant out for his arrest in the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court. An arraignment date has not yet been set.

The 17-year-old rapper, who was born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden but recently changed his name to YoungBoy Never Broke Again, caught a ton of ears with his recent 38 Baby mixtape, featuring fellow Baton Rouge stars Kevin Gates and Boosie BadAzz. His buzz was cresting, his YouTube videos were getting millions of views, and labels were calling.

Louisiana is one of only nine states in the U.S. that allows 17-year-old juveniles to be tried as adults in criminal court. In June, the state's Governor John Bel Edwards signed the Raise the Age Act into law, which ensures jailed 17-year-olds are placed in an "age-appropriate setting, while still allowing prosectors to charge them as adults when deemed necessary."
