2013: Maybach Music Group drop Self Made, Vol. 3, an LP that marks the third installment of the record label's epic album trilogy. Starring Rick Ross, Meek Mill and Wale near the top of their musical powers, the project was a showcase for all that helped propel the collective to rap game dominance.

On one hand, you have Rozay, who reaffirmed his knack for theatrical flossing on tracks like the Yo Gotti-assisted "Gallardo." Then, there's Meek delivered "Levels," a hardbody song with a title catchy enough to become a cliché. In between those two, you've got Wale waxing poetic on tracks like "Black Grammys" and "Poor Decisions."

More than just a stage for MMG's vaunted trifecta, Self Made, Vol. 3 also features MMG signees like Stalley, Gunplay, Rockie Fresh, Omarion and a roster of guest appearances that fit the label like a glove, as well as a few that didn't. French Montana, Fabolous, Pusha-T and Boosie BadAzz come to mind as far as names you'd expect to see on an MMG release. As far as unexpected guest appearances, there was Lupe Fiasco, who delivered an epic verse on "Poor Decisions."

Loaded with hammering instrumentals and lyricism that could be reflective one moment and brazenly gangster the next, Self Made, Vol. 3 is an LP for anyone who loves themselves some MMG. It's been five years since the project dropped, and if we don't get another installment of the Self Made series, at least the last edition left a strong impression of peak MMG.
