MF Doom is one of hip-hop's most mysterious wonders. The masked MC has remained in the headlines this year thanks to teased rap collabs with both Jay Electronica and Ghostface Killah. Now the wordsmith chooses to show off his skills behind the boards by dropping a rework to the Wu-Tang Clan classic track "Method Man."

Back in 1993, Method Man made his lyrical introduction on his own namesake track, the B-side to the single "Protect Ya Neck" off Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Though Meth's verses are pretty much the same on Doom's revision ("M-E-T-H-O-D Man!"), the beat is much more layered than RZA's original piano-laced beat from back in the day.

This new mash-up is just a taste of the villain's upcoming production mixtape Special Blends Vol. 1 & 2 slated to drop next month on June 17. Doom has always produced his own beats for himself and over the years has conjured up audio for Joey Bada$$, Masta Ace and Ghostface Killah. With a discography as a producer dating back to the early '90s, the underground king has a proven track record and steadfast fanbase who respect his woozy manipulation and old school samples. Doom is selling his mixtape in purely vinyl form and fans can preorder the tape before its summertime drop now.
