Lupe Fiasco recently took to his Twitter account to inform fans of the status of his long delayed third studio album, Lasers, and he doesn’t seem to be too optimistic.

Lasers is out of my hands guys and gals,” he wrote yesterday (July 12). “[I]t's done and that's all I can tell you...when they drop it...they drop it...so drop it.”

“Really appreciate the EXTRA EXTRA effort you guys are putting out to get Lasers released," he added. "[Not] fallin on deaf ears up at HQ!”

As previously reported, Lupe told Shade45 DJ Tony Touch that he handed the disc in to Atlantic back in January. Since making those statements, a video hit the Internet for the album’s lead single, “I’m Beaming” in April, but nothing else was released.

XXLMag.com reached out to Atlantic regarding the issue, but at press time they have yet to respond.

In the meantime, Lupe promises that his indie rock side project Japanese Cartoon will be coming shortly. “JC IS in my hands though...and that will be dropping Fo' Free @ allsabotage.com like soon as hell...ha!” He then went on to say that the group’s LP, In the Jaws of the Lords of Death may arrive in a couple of days. —Elan Mancini
