New Era has always had a special place for hip hop through their past collaborations with some of the most elite in the genre.
The headwear company which was founded in 1920, is the official on-field cap worn by every Major League Baseball team and has strong ties with other professional sports in the U.S. as well as around the world. New Era is also responsible for some of the greatest collaborations with music artists and clothing brands.
New Era's collaborations with hip hop can be traced all the way back to 1996, when the company partnered up with Spike Lee for a special red New York Yankees fitted. This would eventually open up the doors for hip hop acts such as Wu-Tang Clan, Run DMC, Lil Wayne and more to have their own New Era fitteds.
