Unlike some of the more enigmatic members of rap's underground, the Crown Heights-bred ScienZe has blessed his fans over the past couple of years with a steady stream of solid releases. Today (April 10), he keeps that streak alive with the Blu- and Elle Pierre-featuring "Southside, Queens." The track, produced by King I Divine (a New York native himself, despite his new Atlanta zip code), is  a muted, revivalist ode to musty stairwells and bubble goose jackets. But where ScienZe is reliving the New York that's a part of his very DNA, Los Angeles' Blu imagines a town that is full of, well, queens--with the small 'q.' By the end of his verse, you've got one browser tab open looking at Amtrak tickets and another looking for 24-hour jewelry spots.
