Lin-Manuel Miranda Says President Trump Is “Going Straight to Hell” for His Response to Puerto Rico’s Crisis
Puerto Rico was recently ravaged by Hurricane Maria, and many people have been pissed with President Trump's response to the disaster. Add Latino actor/rapper Lin Manuel Miranda to that list.
Earlier today (Sept. 30), No. 45 started tapping his Twitter fingers and blaming the Puerto Rican government, Mayor Carmen Cruz in particular, on the county's slow recovery efforts. "The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump," he started. "Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job," he added.
Miranda, who is from Puerto Rico, couldn't help but clap back at the POTUS. And he brought the heat. "You're going straight to hell, @realDonaldTrump," the Hamilton creator replied. "No long lines for you. Someone will say, 'Right this way, sir.' They'll clear a path. [Cruz] has been working 24/7. You have been GOLFING. You're going straight to hell. Fastest golf cart you ever took."
MCs are coming to the aid of the U.S. territory, which is still suffering from the effects of the huge storm. Fat Joe and Pitbull have both contributed to relief efforts.
