Lil Yachty and Rich the Kid are two of the more promising young artists coming out of the South, so it's only right that they team up for a project. The duo told The FADER that they are releasing a collaborative mixtape called Lil Boat and The Goat and leaked "We Got It" today (March 23) to go along with the announcement.  "We Got It" shows the duo's undeniable chemistry as they trade bars over OG Parker's production. Hear it up top.

Yachty's rise in the hip-hop world has been rapid and the young MC told XXL that he just started taking rap seriously a year ago. "I probably started rapping about a year ago. I had two songs; I made my closet a booth. I started just putting out songs, locally getting love. Two thousand plays, in my town that’s a lot. I took it seriously about four months ago [because] I hated college. I went to college for about two months. Then I realized that shit was not for me at all. I went to Alabama State. I had “Hella Os” and “Minnesota” written on paper at school. I came home one weekend and freestyled “Lil Boat.” “Lil Boat” is probably the song we put out. Or “Hella Os,” one of those songs.

"I don’t know [why I started rapping]," he continued. "I was in a group called Yacht Club and they were all rappers. When you surrounded by a bunch of people who want to rap, it makes you want to rap."

Rich the Kid has a busy April in front of him. Along with the Lil Yachty collab, Rich is also dropping a new mixtape called Trap Talk on April 19.

In addition, the "Dab Fever" rapper dropped the visual for his Flexin on Purpose cut "That Bag." Check it below. Lil Boat and The Goat drops April 1.
