Lil Wayne and Kanye West Appear in Preview for Tyler, The Creator’s ‘Cherry Bomb’ Documentary
About two months ago, Tyler, The Creator announced an upcoming documentary about the making of his 2015 album, Cherry Bomb. Today (Jan. 5), Golf Media shares a new preview for the documentary.
Kanye West and Lil Wayne are both featured in the snippet, which you can view above. The preview begins with 'Ye in the studio recording his verse on "Smuckers," track 11 on Cherry Bomb. Then, the clip cuts to Tyler discussing how he got Yeezy and Weezy on the track together.
"Ten years down the line, niggas gon' be like 'Smuckers is legendary.' That one's for the books and shit," Tyler says. "Yeah, finally just working with those two dudes, it's crazy. I remember playing it for Travis and Lionel. We was like 'Oh, shit. I really got these two niggas on a song.' And I knew specifically I wanted Wayne's tone of voice on there."
Afterward, Tunechi gives an interview in which he talks about getting the record from Tyler and laying his verse on the album's standout track. The 13-track Cherry Bomb was the follow-up to Tyler’s 2013 album Wolf, and the documentary about its creation is slated to release in full sometime in January.
