It was a slow week for hip-hop on the charts today (October 27) with only three rap acts making it onto Billboard's Top 40.

Leading the pack was Lil Wayne’s latest release, I Am Not A Human Being. The incarcerated rap star, who is scheduled to return home next Thursday, November 4, slipped four slots to No. 5, after being crowned No. 1 last Wednesday. Weezy pushed 64,500 units in the last seven days, bringing his four-week total to 323,200, according to Nielsen’s SoundScan report. (Editor’s note: he’s only had physical copies of the disc in stores since October 12).

Sliding three spots from No. 5 to No. 8 is Eminem. Recovery was purchased by 42,600 Em fans this sales cycle, making the Detroit lyricist’s 18-week tally now stand at 2,861,000.

Waka Flocka Flame sits 26 seats down at No. 34. The Brick Squad rapper’s debut album, Flockaveli, picked up an additional 11,700 in sales this week, to make his overall figures equal 67,200.

With no big new releases hitting stores yesterday, it looks like hip-hop may have an even lesser presence on the charts next week. —Elan Mancini
