Lil Uzi Vert, Tyga, Moneybagg Yo and More: Bangers This Week
Another week, another grab bag of new raps. Things have been pretty interesting this week, with huge album announcements coming right alongside quickly percolating rap beefs. No matter who you're a fan of, there is some new fire waiting for you. Lil Uzi Vert finally frees a song he's been teasing for quite some time, Tyga drops yet another track to kill the party scene (in a good way), Moneybagg Yo shows why he's a name to watch and much more, in the latest edition of Bangers This Week.
Lil Uzi Vert's releases are always highly-anticipated, with his extremely successful 2017 pushing his popularity to the stratosphere. He's been mostly quiet this year, outside of a few big performances. On Sept. 18, he dropped "New Patek," a song that had a viral Twitter clip months ago, where Uzi dances in a hotel room. The full track lives up to expectations and is super catchy; Uzi may never stop surging.
Tyga's "Taste" earned him a ton of momentum this summer, so he is smartly keeping the music coming. One of his latest tracks is the raucous "Dip," which is about spotting girls at a party. Tyga is bragging with the confidence of a rapper who just got a plaque or two and the song's bounce will definitely help it stick around on playlists this year and beyond.
Moneybagg Yo is a well-respected rapper and lyrically deft in a way that isn't appreciated enough. He took a crack at Travis Scott and Drake's "Sicko Mode," re-titled it "Psycho Mode," then used one of the songs multiple crazy beats to snap on. Yo raps about how he's been balling out off rap and even takes a few stray shots at an unnamed enemy. Let's see if we find out who he's talking about.
