Kodie Shane and Trippie Redd Deal With Pressure on New Song “Love & Drugz II”
After teaming up with Mir Fontaine for the "New Friends" video, Kodie Shane is back with another collaboration, this time linking with Trippie Redd for the OZ-produced song, "Love & Drugz II," on Thursday (July 19).
The slow-building track finds the two artists showing off their vocals and rapping as they go back and forth crooning about the pressure they're dealing with. "Sometimes I feel so alone/Even when I'm not alone/I don't pick up but they still call my phone," Shane sings in the opening of the song.
"I cannot answer the phone 'cause I'm gone/Tryna fight all the demons in my zone/I'm at home all alone, home all alone/They want it bad but they can't take my soul/Man they can't take my soul," Trippie continues to croon before the 2018 XXL Freshman takes over the chorus with Shane.
A follow-up to their 2016 collaboration "Love & Drugz," part two of the song is just the first taste of what's to come from Kodie's upcoming Epic Records debut studio album, which is set to release later this year.
The album will follow Shane's 2017 EP, Back From the Future. Released in August 2017, the seven-track project features the songs "Get Right," "You Should Know," "Level Up" and "Indecisive."
