When Kodak Black was just 14-years-old, he went by J-Black and had a somewhat denser lyrical style. Weeks ago we scoured the net to find some his earliest material from that period, and this past weekend another song from around that time surfaced. It's called "I'm On" and you can hear it above.

The track, which is actually the beat from Trae Tha Truth's 2011 track "I'm On," samples Mark Morrison's classic rebound anthem "Return of the Mack" and finds the Florida MC kicking a slightly faster flow than he usually does nowadays: "My lil niggas in Pompano, we be snapping though/I can't play with this money, I can't be lacking though."

The spotlight on Florida rap is getting larger by the day, despite Kodak's current incarceration. Just the other week, the New Era Promotions team released their Key to the Streets tape featuring a (kinda) rare Kodak song called "Real Shit" plus standout tracks from fellow Florida rappers like Koly P, Dirty 1000 and Humble Haitian, amongst many others.

In fact, Dirty 1000 dropped an excellent tape just the other week, and it featured two standout Kodak collabs, with "J. Doe Letter" being the best of the two. Between the bouncing bass and Kodak's heartfelt chorus, it's a diamond in the rough.

Listen to "I'm On" above, and if you know Florida, you know they had to speed it up a bit. You can hear the faster version below.
