The attention that Kendrick Lamar has garnered for his verse on Big Sean's "Control (HOF)" has translated into a new commercial achievement for the Compton rapper. Kendrick Lamar's debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, has finally sold over one million records this. In June, Kendrick Lamar was certified platinum for shipping over one million records into stores but this week, he's finally reached that quintessential sales plateau by selling a million copies for his debut album.

According to SoundScan, Kendrick leaped from #52 to #36 on the charts likely due to the attention the rapper has gained over the last week. He sold over 9,000 copies last week finally pushing over the platinum sales plateau.

Congratulations, Kendrick!
