Original Story: As Kanye West's Waves album release date inches closer, more and more details are beginning to emerge. Last Tuesday (Jan. 26), news came across the wire that 'Ye will debut his highly-anticipated album at Madison Square Garden during the launch of his Yeezy Season 3 fashion line. The show will also be streamed at movie theaters throughout the world on Feb. 11. A new website that includes a list of all the theaters that will be showing the performance, along with links to buy tickets, was launched sometime over the last 24 hours. The show will broadcast to 700 cinema screens in 23 countries around the world
The site also lists Vanessa Beecroft as a performer at the event. Beecroft is an Italian contemporary artist who specializes in large scale performance art that features female models, often nude. Per her Wikipedia page, the curated performances "[are] made for a specific location and often references the political, historical, or social associations of the place where it is held.
Kanye and Beecroft have worked closely together during the 2010's and her artistry has been a big influence on Yeezy's recent performances and venture into the art world. Working closely with 'Ye, Beecroft has directed the "Runaway" video from 808s and Heartbreak, collaborated with the rapper on an Art Basel exhibit and helped orchestrate the previous two Yeezy Season fashion shows.
'Ye has used his past two Yeezy Season fashion shows to debut new music. At the Yeezy Season 1 show in Feb. of last year, the superstar artist debuted "Wolves" featuring Vic Mensa and Sia. At the Yeezy Season 2 show in Sept., Kanye unveiled "Fade" featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone. Both "Wolves" and "Fade" are on the handwritten Waves tracklist.
