A day after Kanye West declared "Famous" as the first official single from The Life of Pablo, TIDAL announced the streaming numbers from the album. According to reports, in the 10 days after the initial release of T.L.O.P. on TIDAL, the project was streamed 250 million times.

The exclusive release also helped jolt TIDAL's numbers and in February, TMZ reported that subscriptions for the service jumped from one million to 2.5 million. TIDAL also announced that of the 2.5 million subscribers, around 1.35 million have signed up for its hi-fidelity service which costs $19.99 per month. The jump in subscriber numbers is certainly impressive, but still pales in comparison to Spotify's recently announced 30 million in paid users.

As Kanye West's The Life of Pablo continues to change and evolve, TIDAL is trying to keep up. Earlier this month, TIDAL extended its free trial period so users could hear the updated version of "Wolves" featuring Vic Mensa and Sia.

“Because TIDAL is about discovering new music, we are extending your complimentary TIDAL trial with an additional 30 days so you’re always first to hear new music from Kanye. So go ahead. Keep listening to The Life of Pablo and more of your favorite music,” wrote the streaming service in a message.

While Kanye claimed that The Life of Pablo would live exclusively on TIDAL, "Famous" was curiously released on both Spotify and Apple Music. This may have been a decision made by Def Jam who declared the song as "The official 1st single from the critically acclaimed album The Life of Pablo," but one has to imagine they would have needed Kanye's approval.
