2009: Kanye West forever went down in awards show infamy on Sept. 13, 2009, at the MTV Video Music Awards. In the middle of the live ceremony, ’Ye interrupted Taylor Swift's speech for winning the moon man for Best Female Video.

The pop starlet had won the award for her video to the track "You Belong with Me," beating out Pink's "So What," Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You," Lady Gaga's "Poker Face," Katy Perry's "Hot n Cold" and of course, Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)." But when Swift went up to accept her award, the 808s & Heartbreak rapper stormed the stage and took the mic from Tay before she even got to finish her speech

"Yo, Taylor," said Kanye. "I'm really happy for you and I'ma let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."

This surprise moment went viral and sparked many "I'ma let you finish..." memes online. The Chi-Town rapper's rant even sparked the feud between the pop star and ’Ye that is still evident in the music industry today. To date, Taylor and Kanye have gone back and forth as frenemies and some suspect the singer's upcoming album, Reputation, houses jabs at Kanye and his wife, Kim Kardashian-West.
