Kanye West and Jimmy Kimmel have partnered for a project being billed as "hip-hop meets the Muppets."

West , it was announced today, has signed on through Kimmel's company, Jackhole Prods., to executive produce, perform music, and host a "Crank Yankers"-like show called "Alligator Boots."

Rhymefest is also on board as an executive producer of the show. The "Blue Collar" rapper will perform music on the show as well. A pilot for the project has been shot already, which 'Ye is the host of, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, the idea is that a different celebrity host each episode in the same manner as the original "Muppet Show."

"Alligator Boots" is under consideration for 2009, however no episodes of the show have been ordered beyond the pilot. This is the second television project West has entertained. In the past the rapper flirted with the idea of a scripted reality show backed by "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Larry David.---Nino "Dubs" DeLuca
