Juice Wrld formally introduced himself to the hip-hop sphere with his smash hit "Lucid Dreams," and in hindsight, the chart-climbing record has given fans the chance to label the rapper as a melodic, feelings-first artist of sorts. But, that shouldn't undermine the fact that the young Chicago MC has bars.

Case and point, Juice stepped up to one of the game's biggest challenges: spitting a nearly 10-minute long freestyle for Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex. In the clip released on Wednesday morning (July 18), Juice unloads a fury of bars over Nas' "The Message." The track is fitting since Juice's "Lucid Dreams" samples Sting's "Shape of My Heart," which is also the sample used for Nas' hit single.

While spitting off the dome is a risky feat, the "Wasted" rapper appears to fare well as he clearly has done this before. "I feel like Kyrie with this mic, I handle/I feel like a technician with this shit, get dismantled/This is off the top of the dome, I never write it/See the shit before I say it, I feel just like a psychic," he raps.

Juice Wrld holding his own when it comes to off-the-top rhymes doesn't come as much of surprise. Late last month, the Goodbye & Good Riddance artist spit a hour-long freestyle for Tim Westwood in London over tracks like The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Unbelievable" and Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones (Part II)," proving that, at the very least, he has quite the admiration for his craft.
