Earlier today, Joey Bada$$ took to Twitter to tell his fans that his long-awaited followup to last year's massive debut mixtape 1999—titled Summer Knights—was getting pushed back until July 1st, laying the blame at the feet of his Cinematic Music Group manager Jonny Shipes. XXL reached out to Shipes, who clarified that the decision was made in order to give the team another few weeks to tweak the tracks ahead of the release.

"We just felt that we needed 2 tweak a few things, mixes etc.," Shipes said via email. "The shit will be well worth the wait now back to smokin this doobie lol."

Joey soothed his fans by dropping the second track from Summer Knights, the banger "95 Til Infinity." He and his Pro Era crew will also be in Brooklyn tonight in what was supposed to be a release show celebrating the mixtape. Bada$$ swung through the XXL office last week to talk about Summer Knights, the past year of his life since 1999 blew up, and the next steps for his career. Check out his new track right here.
