Joey Badass will not be releasing AABA in 2016. The Brooklyn rapper revealed that today (Nov. 8) was the original release date for the album, but the LP has been delayed until 2017.

"The new music is well worth the wait!" he wrote on Twitter. "Today was the original release date for my upcoming album. But it's been delayed 4 perfection. I wanna say top of next year... new bada$$ album..."

Two weeks ago, Joey said the album was 90 percent done. Obviously that last 10 percent is taking longer than planned since he's now targeting early 2017 for the LP's release.

The Pro Era member has given fans tastes of the album via two singles. He also compared his project to vegetables when describing how it will fit in the current landscape of hip-hop.

"This new project is very powerful," Joey told Wild 94.1. "That’s the best thing I can say about it: it’s very strong music. It’s like hella vegetables. It’s hella good for you, and it’s almost my hesitance with it: the fact that it’s so good for you, because these kids these days want candy. ‘Devastated’ is almost like the organic candy because the message is still good for you.”

Joey wrapped up all his dates on Schoolboy Q's tour, so finishing AABA will be his main priority. XXL will keep you posted on any updates regarding the highly anticipated album.
