Jaden Smith Shares Trailer and Release Date for ‘SYRE’ Album
It looks like Jaden Smith season is rapidly approaching. On Tuesday (Oct. 24), the rapper unveiled both the trailer and release date for his upcoming debut album, SYRE. It drops on Nov. 17.
"I Cordially Invite You To Visit SYRE Land Via My Instagram. 3 Years In The Making Thank You #LongLiveSYRE |||," wrote Jaden, who's dropped a few loosies throughout the last year. The trailer itself is all over the place, in a good way.
In the clips, we see Jaden posted up on a mountain with a gorgeous pink sky as the backdrop. At first he's staring at something as tears well-up in his eyes. As he stares, we hear the sounds of what's presumably a song off his album. It's a rich harmony featuring an understated instrumental.
"I don't wanna die, I don't wanna live a lie," Jaden says dryly after the singing portion of the track pretty much stops.
If you paid enough attention to his tweet, you probably took a trip to his Instagram—where Jaden said you could find SYRE Land. Once there, you'll see clips of visuals from his new project. The visuals appear to be snippets of music videos. In the clips, we see Jaden doing a bit of everything. In some parts, he's levitating while playing a guitar. In others, he's just dropping bars.
Check out Jaden's trailer below. Peep his new visuals in the Instagram posts beneath the trailer. Watch his video for "Batman" when you're done with that.
