With SXSW coming to an end soon it usually means summer festival season is right around the corner. This year it’s going to be huge in Chicago at Grant Park for Lollapalooza. The festival celebrates 25 years and is pulling out all the stops for the line-up. J.Cole will join Lana Del Rey, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead as headliners for the Chi-town staple, according to Consequence of Sound.

This is the first year the festival will span four days (July 28 - 31) and Cole's presence marks another iconic performance for the Dreamville boss. He recently performed at a fundraising event for the Democratic National Committee in Austin, Texas, where President Obama praised the rapper. “I love J. Cole,” Obama said. He listens to Cole because his teenage daughters Sasha and Malia are huge fans.

Outside of tearing down stages from Austin to Chicago, Cole is also lending his pen to legendary New York City radio host Angie Martinez. Martinez is releasing a memoir later this year called My Voice and Cole is writing the foreword for the book.

This year has been off to a great start for the 2014 Forest Hills Drive rhymer. He kicked off 2016 by releasing Forest Hills Live, the live version of his third platinum effort, on Jan. 28 in honor of his 31st birthday.

Tickets go on sale for Lollapalooza on March 22, along with the full line-up and performance dates. In addition to shutting it down at Lolla, the newly-wed Cole will also headline Bonnaroo Festival in June in Manchester, Tenn.
