Is Kim Kardashian Hurting Kanye West’s Popularity?

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are two superstars where both their fans can’t get enough of what they’ve been up to. KimYe are also pretty successful in their own right. But while Kim K is busy promoting her television shows, clothing lines and acting career, a source tells The New York Daily News that Kanye’s popularity is waning.

The source confirms that West’s image has been tainted due to his appearances on Keep Up With the Kardashians and getting constant coverage in the tabloids and celebrity gossip blogs.

“His personal life is overpowering his music,” an industry source says. “Every time he plays, people are wondering if Kim is going to be there. It’s not a good thing for him, especially if he wants to be taken seriously.”

Kanye is set to perform at a string of shows at Revel in Atlantic City; however, they are nowhere close to being sold out. Another display of public dissatisfaction was at his recent performance at the 12/12/12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert at Madison Square Garden. It was reported that almost half the audience walked out to go to the bathroom or elsewhere in the arena.

West hasn’t turned a blind eye at his detractors. He is allegedly speaking with top-level executives to reconstruct his team soon.—Eric Diep
