Iggy Azalea Tops Google’s ‘Year In Search 2014′
After a year of chart-topping, beefing with Snoop, and denying a rumored sex tape, Iggy Azalea is officially Google's No. 1 Trending Music Artist.
The search engine released its annual list, and among the Top 10, Azalea beat out Lorde (No. 2), clutch-swinging Solange (No. 5), and even her half-a-billion dollar sister Beyoncé (noticeably not on the list). Apparently, her song "Fancy" had much to do with it. The cut landed on the Top Five Trending Song Lyrics of the Year list.
As for the rest of the Top 10, Nicki Minaj came in at No. 6, and Kanye West didn't get mentioned, but it turns out Kimye got their wish: their wedding was the most talked about celebrity wedding of all time.
And as for 2015, Azalea is already gunning for the top spot again. She recently announced that she'll be heading out The Great Escape Tour in April. —Sia Tiambi
