Today, May 13, is the birthday of Pittsburgh rapper, Chevy Woods. He is now 37.

Born Kevin Woods, Chevy began rapping as a child but got more interested in the craft while attending college at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania. Originally going by Kev tha Hustla, Chevy met fellow Pittsburgh MC Wiz Khalifa in 2004 and soon formed the crew Taylor Gang. Chevy got big looks off being featured on Wiz's numerous mixtapes over the years and, once Wiz blew up, on his chart topping single "Taylor Gang." Woods has also toured with Wiz Khalifa as a backing MC and occasional hypeman.

With a steady work ethic, Woods dropped his first mixtape, The Corner's Correspondent in 2008 followed by Animal in 2009 and Pilot Shit in 2010. In 2011, Woods dropped Red Cup Music featuring an arsenal of Taylor Gang affiliates like Mac Miller, Juicy J and French Montana. Red Cup Music, along with co-signs from Wiz, helped to bring Chevy more into the mainstream hip-hop spotlight.

Chevy has dropped numerous projects under Heavy Hustle and Taylor Gang Records, including entries in his popular Gangland mixtape series and his The 48 Hunnid Project EP. Last year, he dropped off two mixtapes (Exactly What They Want, Thanks For Everything). Since then, Chevy has kept his foot on the gas and doesn't look to be taking it off any time soon. Salute.

Happy Birthday, Chevy!
